Building a Solid Waste & Sustainable Materials Management Plan for Kentucky
SPRING 2026 UPDATE
Since last Fall, the Division of Waste Management, UK Recycling, and Blueprint Kentucky has been drafting new Solid Waste & Sustainable Materials Management Plan as well as a new Recycling Strategy for the State of Kentucky. Join us for a community event where we will discuss our findings from last year’s statewide community engagement events, you'll be invited to provide feedback on recommendations related to Kentucky’s waste, recycling, and circular economy systems.

Whether you're a waste management professional, an industry leader, or a concerned citizen, your voice is vital in shaping Kentucky’s future approach to sustainable materials management. These conversations guided the creation of Kentucky’s new plan, ensuring it’s comprehensive, effective, and beneficial for all Kentuckians.
Blueprint Kentucky, UK Recycling, and the Kentucky Division of Waste Management partnered for a series of community listening sessions to learn from those with experiences in the field of waste management as well as the public at large. One session was held in each area development district with additional city-specific sessions, but all were welcome to attend any event that was convenient.
