Professional Biography

Renee Anderson is a multidisciplinary artist from Paintsville, Kentucky. In 2020, she graduated from Morehead State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Art & Design and a minor in Arts Entrepreneurship. Her main artistic focus is ink drawing, block printing, and photography.

Renee's work has been published in the 2021 installment of Inscape, MSU’s literary and art magazine, as well as Issue 2 of the Hindman Settlement School’s Untelling. She has contributed to several public art projects, and her pieces have been on display at MSU’s Golding-Yang Art Gallery, Rowan County Arts Center, Gateway Regional Arts Center, Highway 7 Community Outreach, and the Appalachian Artisan Center.

Renee's dedication to advancing the arts—and her advocacy for addiction recovery—has led to speaking opportunities at the Southwest Virginia Economic Forum and the Arts & Health webinar hosted by Americans for the Arts. She also serves as a board member for Kentuckians for the Arts—Kentucky’s statewide arts advocacy organization.

When Renee is not working, you can usually find her reading a good book, making art, or out on a hike. She's also a big fan of audiobooks and the way they allow her to get more than one thing done at a time!
